On the face of it this is a simple enough corporate headshot photography job but the brief had a caveat, you need to shoot in the style of our existing images. The reason is that many of the existing company members have been photographed out of Devon by another photographer, so a style has been set.
In truth it turned into an interesting job: a small window of time with all parties available, to be photographed in a relaxed ‘conversational’ style. And that’s what we did, around the client’s meeting table, two people chatting and one being photographed. It all felt very relaxed and comfortable. An early start, set up the lighting before people arrived for work and the session went quickly and smoothly, by the end of the day the client had edited proofs with a selection of images for each of the sitters.
The client had asked that the office should form the backdrop which in a way simplified the setup.
I came away from this session feeling that I’ve learnt a new and viable approach.
