A busy week with the super-bike project; this time Andy Hornby’s Ducati 1199 Panigale with a few of its friends in the garage. Thanks for the R to RSR quality help again.
I had initially intended just to case the joint yesterday but the bike was clean, the weather was fine and Andy Hornby was (as ever) amenable. The car was full of gear too which helped.
For those interested, the lighting setup was a pair of Bowens Gemini Pros; one with 6′ strip soft box (above the bike) and one with a Bowens Lumiair Octobank (to the right side). The light was focused pretty much purely on the bike and shot with the Nikon D800e 70-200 ƒ/2.8. No fancy Photoshop other than a bit of tidying up.
Although shot in daylight I wanted the shot to look ‘lit’. I’m increasingly impressed by the Bowens relatively inexpensive BW 3960 which allows remote adjustment of the Geminis, particularly when adjustment would otherwise need a tall stepladder.
