Holiday Home Eco Pod Photography in Hampshire
Based in my spiritual homeland of West Yorkshire Podspace have previously asked us to photograph buildings set in the academic environment of The University of Exeter. On this occasion though it was a trip across to my family’s homeland of Hampshire, Hayling Island more specifically.
A bank holiday Monday seems a ‘bold’ day to attempt to shoot this recently commissioned building but the weather gods and the traffic demons both played fair. Bright sunlight sets the scene but doesn’t necessarily make the shoot easy. However the building interacts well with the environment and the building photographed without the need for the many kilowatts of strobe lighting in the car. Shooting live to the Mac the only real issue was seeing the monitor in the bright sun.
These images are to convey the overall form of the structure as well as the detailing. However, the building is already starting its life as a lived-in environment and the trappings of beach life serve to demonstrate the point that the form of the building shows its ability to fulfil its function as a stylish and modern holiday home.
