I’ve worked with Morbern Europe for some time, though principally studio shots of the stunning range of fabrics that Morbern produce. This task was to record the 10th Anniversary celebrations as well as to undertake a set of quality headshots on the same day.

So, this was to be a new venture. Taking a car-load of gear from Exeter to southern Belgium isn’t the obvious approach but it meant I had all eventualities covered. Going over the water was the financially prudent option and it meant that the whole journey could be comfortably covered in a day. Indeed we timed it well and managed to arrive at site in Belgium with time to set up the headshot studio late in the afternoon. We were able to use the upper floor of the HQ for this.

The following day was ‘all-go’. An early breakfast at the team’s nearby hotel made for a prompt start meaning that team members were able to have their headshots undertaken as they arrived from various locations including Belgium, UK, Germany and Canada.

The next task was to take the group shot, this was an outdoors shot using mixed natural and studio lighting. As we were wrapping this up the guests event started arriving and it was time to record the event. Frankly on this day Belgian weather/light varied at a pace similar to that of Devon. That said, it was pretty good overall!

A tiring day but a lot of ground covered.

With the car loaded up it was a further overnight with the team in the nearby hotel followed by a return trip for Karin and me back to home. This is one trip where Karin’s assistance was invaluable.

It was a really enjoyable experience, the Morbern team were delightful to work with.
