Marsh Barton Exeter is home to one of Europe’s largest motoring centres as anyone who lives near probably already knows. To be honest I always feel a little guilty driving near garages, my car isn’t exactly this year’s model, indeed the manufacturer (Saab) is still going but not as we knew it.

Sunny days, everyone assumes photographers love sunny days hey? The truth is they can be OK but they don’t actually make life that easy. this day was a very sunny day although the light was subject to change.

The brief was clear and defined and there was a lot of ground to cover. I needed

  • Corporate headshots of managers

  • Team group photos

  • Internal photos of car showrooms

  • External photos of car showrooms

  • Photographs of vehicles for advertorials

Fortunately the crushingly bright light outside translated to ‘useful for headshot lighting’ inside. A range of shots were taken of the team managers, some with the cars discernible others with the background resolving to bokeh. This is a busy site, the customers were flowing throughout the shoot, the customers are the important people.

With a bit of planning a lot of ground can be covered with minimal interruption to the day to day running of the showroom, don’t mention the seaguls though.
