I first met the lovely Wayne Meeten some time ago when I was commissioned by a Toronto based magazine to photograph him.

Since then I’ve been commissioned directly by Wayne on a number of times to photograph his beautiful works. It’s an honour to be selected to photograph items such as these, pieces that are known and understood intimately by the creator. Each creation brings a unique set of challenges to record it.

The complex faceted nature of these organic designs needs an immense attention to lighting detail and control in order to record well in the camera. It’s possibly not apparent but each item here has been lit very differently to achieve the final results. And I think it’s fair to say, that I’ve had to develop a whole new approach to lighting to render the detail in these images.
