Saturday 19th Jan 2015, Simms Hill Dartmoor and I failed the first test, yep, no Thermos. Second test resulted in an afternoon of pasty envy. I didn’t really want one but with the man next to me oiling his Canon zoom with one, well, you know how it is.

But the good news was that I was wearing a Belstaff coat and had suitable head-gear. I’d also had the sense to wear some over-trousers too.

Now, if an alien had landed, observed the proceedings and then attempted to report back to his home planet a certain amount of disbelief would be had. As Kevin Sharp commented about his trip up the hill – the first time with his daughter;

Excited and terrified in equal amounts I think! We did get a huge amount of air under the front wheels but glad they came back down to ground eventually…

The Suzuki X90 is the kind of car your nan drives, borne out by this advert for one, there’s a few out there from about £400:

Been in my family for about 10 years, my auntie was second owner, nan had her for a while until my Grandad got sick. It was passed on to me, my mum drove her for a while until I passed my test & I have been driving her for 4 years

Come on, what’s stopping you?
