Kevil’s New Website Photography

Exeter based Design Credo are proud to announce the launch of a new WordPress website for Paignton based BMW custom bike builder Kevil’s Speed Shop.

When we first met Kev Hill he had just commissioned a website but in a brief time the site had become more of a liability than an asset by failing to communicate the sheer quality of his product. The old site can be viewd here.

The new Design Credo website has been designed to offer a good visual presentation of the bikes created by Kevil’s whilst also allowing a more detailed examination of the quality of the paint, parts and fabrication. The site is based on a responsive WordPress framework meaning that it will present differently on various viewing platforms such as tablets, smart-phones and of course full sized screens.

Being a WordPress based web-site it allows easy updates of day to day news in the blog section whilst new bikes which are displayed as folio items can be immediately shared across to the Kevil’s Facebook page. It is essential to grasp the importance of Facebook as well as the Kevil’s Flickr photostream; there is a huge amount of interest and traffic through both however the website is clearly a better forum for presenting the Kevil’s brand.

The photography is fronted by images by Andrew Butler these being backed up with images shot by Kev Hill himself.

Text content has again been developed within Design Credo by Karen Brookes-Ferrari and Andrew Butler.

As with all WordPress sites this will perform very well in SEO tasks and part of the upload process includes writing 301 redirects from the old site’s page URLs to the new ones. In short it is likely that you will still find a Google reference to the old website and it is important to feed this traffic through to the appropriate destination.

Design Credo offer a solid and reliable web-hosting service which includes regular full ‘file and database’ backups. The new site is now hosted by Design Credo.

The next stage in the process is training Kevil’s to gain maximum value from the new WordPress site.
